The new distillery is situtated in Carron, Moray, on the banks of the River Spey. It is a perfect example of modern distilling technology.
Simmers Contracts Ltd were delighted to be awarded the steel fabrication and erection element of the new Dulmunach Distillery, Carron for Chivas Brothers Ltd (Pernod Ricard).
This contract included the fabrication and erection of 650 tonnes of steel that was constructed in sequence to accommodate the complex installation of the distilling plant.
In addition to the portal frame steel structure, we were also contracted to carry out the metalwork components necessary within the building. This consisted of the following:
As all components were designed and detailed in-house at Simmers Contracts Ltd, this allowed us to pre-fabricate and galvanise the materials prior to fitting on-site.
The combination of our in-house design work, pre-fabrication capabilities and experience of our steel erection squad enabled us to ensure our contract was completed within the tight project time frame.
